I thought the speech in question was a ... unique ... interpretation of scriptures, but not a full-throated endorsement of the "miraculous sharing" motif. Of course, it was not a full-throated denial either. Jimmy Akin, who does have the stamina, address Francis' interpretation last year
http://www.ncregister.com/blog/jimmy-akin/pope-francis-on-the-parable-of-the-loaves-and-fishes-11-things-to-know-and .

The idea is that in Francis' mind, the multiplication occurred as the loaves were handed out by the disciples. His entire interpretation of that miracle is strange to me, but apparently it's one that Francis invokes a lot.

As for the rest, I feel a bit like Winston Churchill: "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil tears and sweat." And it can always be worse. We need communities of believers who can cheer age other up at the end of the day so we have the strength to face another. I'm not sure our parishes are on board for serving in that role. They seem more focused on being a Community Center with a Cross. Actually I don't even know what such a thing would look like. Maybe it DOES look like a Community Center with a Cross and everyone just needs to go. But if we don't band together, secularism will wipe us out.GenXBenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15298459502431357489noreply@blogger.com
